Our Programs

⇒ Teacher Resource Grants

In response to a private foundation's goal to improve public education and the teaching of science, PVF created the "Immediate-Response" Teacher Resource Grants Program. As a result of the success of this program, it is now available in 5 San Francisco Bay Area counties.

For the 2014-2015 school year, the Teacher Resource Grants are focusing on enhancing arts, field trips, and after school projects.  See Teacher Grants for a listing of our current immediate response teacher grants programs.

⇒ Programs for Foster Youth

PVFs has added new programs with our "Immediate Response" model,
serving children in the dependency system and emancipating foster youth.  These programs meet critical needs of foster youth as identified by social workers, Court-Appointed Special Advocates, and juvenile court judges and attorneys. See Programs for Foster Youth for a full description.

⇒ Community Initiatives

Getting out of the office, listening to what people in grassroots agencies, schools, classrooms, juvenile halls and start-up community foundations have to say — that’s where we get our best ideas. PVF initiatives such as the Holy Family School in Redwood City, the Parent Involvement Worker Program in East Palo Alto, and the McClymonds High School Health Clinic in Oakland, came from excursions into the community. See Community Initiatives to learn more about our work out in the community.
