Our Programs > San Francisco Teacher Grants
“A visit to the San Jose Tech museum is a rare opportunity for our students. The last time we went was three years ago; since then we have tried to raise money from different sources, but were ultimately disappointed. How wonderful to be presented with this check and to be able to surprise the class with this wonderful trip and learning experience" Grey Todd, 4/5th grade teacher, Guadalupe School, San Francisco, CA.

"We have a strong science curriculum that relies heavily on experiments and reading; however, some of the ideas behind the science are challenging for our English language learners and those who have processing issues. The more visual the instruction, the better it is for our students. A grant would allow us to purchase needed visual teaching components for our science program." Dana Rees, 5th grade teacher, Redding Elementary School, San Francisco, CA.

“Our school is seriously lacking in grade-level appropriate books for students in 3rd grade and above. The students at our school are imaginative, inquisitive, and critical thinkers. I would like to purchase books that challenge and engage students, as well as capture their imagination so they can have honest and authentic conversations about literature that will propel them into being phenomenal life-long readers." Rahima Abdelhamid, 3rd grade teacher, Malcolm X Academy, San Francisco, CA.
