For Donors > Professional Advisor Resources

At PVF, we offer a range of services that complement the efforts of professional advisors to maximize their clients’ philanthropic objectives.

Our goal is to work together with professional advisors to present opportunities for charitable giving that engage donors at the level they desire while making charitable giving enjoyable and significant. Whether the giving interests of the client are for charitable giving today, over time, or in perpetuity, PVF has a variety of options.

Donor Venture Funds, also known as donor advised funds, in which one can donate cash, stock or other assets to a special account at a public charity which serves as the vehicle for the donor’s charitable giving.  Donations to the Fund trigger the charitable tax deduction and giving from the Fund can be at one’s own pace.

Unrestricted Gifts to PVF enable PVF to continue to engage in creative and effective grantmaking, bringing together charitable resources with PVF’s knowledge and expertise in the non-profit sector.

Program Funds to support specific ongoing programs at PVF that are high impact and have a proven track record supporting such areas as education, the arts, at risk youth and literacy.

PVF Endowment – make a gift to PVF’s Endowment Fund, add a charitable bequest to an existing Will or Living Trust, designate PVF as a beneficiary to a life insurance policy or a retirement plan.

At PVF, we pride ourselves on customizing giving for donors. We strategize, develop giving plans, evaluate potential grant recipients, identify high-impact programs, and create new programs to match a donor’s interests.

Over the years PVF has worked with many families on their charitable giving. Perhaps your client would like to involve their children or grandchildren in philanthropy? PVF works with families to bring generations together for their giving and to transition giving from one generation to another. PVF can work as a consultant and facilitator, providing an opportunity to share perspectives, and for extended family to spend time together and have fun as they engage in charitable work.

The PVF Staff is available to talk or meet about PVF’s charitable options at anytime. For more information and to sign up for our newsletter, please contact Bill Somerville, PVF Executive Director, by phone (510) 645-1890 or email: bsomerville@venturesfoundation.org
