Ways to Give > Program Funds
PVF staff take the initiative in philanthropy. We continually look for people and projects doing outstanding charitable work in the community, and we also identify unmet needs that can benefit from philanthropic support. Then we devise program ideas to help tackle these needs head on.
We don’t believe that the most creative — or most prudent — philanthropy is helped by complex forms or long waits. So we inaugurated the idea of immediate-response grants, giving money in a 48-hour turnaround. Because of that flexibility, foundations large and small partner with PVF to support arts and science education, library projects and literacy, and children in the dependency system.
Individual donors can also partner with PVF in these efforts and contribute funding to PVF's Programs.
PVF has created and administered programs - like the Teacher Resource Grants Program - for the following Bay Area foundations and corporate donors:
The California Endowment
David & Lucile Packard Foundation
David L. Klein, Jr. Foundation
Eucalyptus Foundation
Flora Family Foundation
Heising-Simons Foundation
Herbst Foundation
Joseph & Vera Long Foundation

Louise and Claude Rosenberg Jr. Foundation

Robert Half International Inc.
Sand Hill Foundation

Sixth graders Isaac and Nelson build bridges in their math class at Garnet J. Robertson Intermediate School in Daly City, California, in a project funded by a Teacher Mini-Grant.
