Judy Macias’ Young Leaders College Fund
Supporting Half Moon Bay High School female graduates with a passion for community leadership and service
Judy Macias was a long-time volunteer, advocate, and supporter of the Coastside community.
In 1979, Judy served as the Executive Director of the Coastside Opportunity Center (now called Coastside Hope) and initiated the annual holiday Adopt-a-Family program. In 1985, she became the Director of Community Outreach at Seton Medical Center and Seton Coastside, establishing the RotaCare Coastside Clinic for the uninsured. Judy was the Founder and Co-Director of Village of the Coastside and the Co-Founder and former Board Chair of Sonrisas Dental Health. She was also a volunteer with Half Moon Bay High School, serving as the Co-President of the community service oriented Interact Club.
With Judy’s passing, The Rev. Julia McKeon (former Executive Director at Sonrisas and current Chaplain at Stanford Medical Center ), Julia O’Daly, and Maureen Perron (both former Sonrisas Board members) established the Judy Macias’ Young Leaders College Fund at PVF.
The Fund aims to recognize Half Moon Bay High School female graduates with a passion for community leadership and service and support their college educations. With your support, the Fund will give annually the next bright stars an auspicious beginning with funding, mentorship and networking opportunities.
