At the heart of Vallejo, California, there exists a powerful legacy of love, dedication, and service to others. The James & Ursula Williams Family Teacher Resource Grant Program is a tribute to the remarkable lives of James and Ursula Williams (pictured right)—two community activists whose tireless work ethic and devotion to family and education made a lasting impact. Through this program, their enduring commitment to improving the lives of others continues to thrive by supporting educators in Vallejo who share their passion for nurturing future generations.

James Williams, a proud native of Vallejo, was known for his generational work ethic, which earned him the admiration and respect of the community. Their love for learning and commitment to personal and community growth inspired them to seize every opportunity that came their way—an approach they hoped to pass down through the generations. Now, through the Willams Family Teacher Resource Grant Program, their legacy continues to support Vallejo’s educators, who are shaping the future of the city and beyond.

The program offers yearly teacher grants that help local educators in their mission to inspire, engage, and educate Vallejo’s students. By providing these grants, the Williams family hopes to honor the same principles of persistence, dedication, and commitment that guided their own lives. It’s a way to keep their values alive and make a lasting difference in Vallejo’s schools.
