A Transformative Experience
The Technology, Engineering and Design Thinking (TED) Program opened last school year to teachers looking to enhance their students STEM/STEAM learning in the form of hands-on projects, classroom resources, curriculum supports, guest subject experts and professional development.
As a new program, we welcome innovative and creative requests, but it can be hard to come up with project ideas from scratch! Below is an idea of what this program can support to get you thinking:
The Berkeley High School Robotics Team recently received funding from PVF to attend the Robotics World Championships where they won their division and made it to the final “Einstein” field finally tying for 7th place.
“We are sincerely grateful for your generous contribution to the Berkeley High Robotics Team this year. In a competition that boasts around four thousand teams, we are beyond proud of our accomplishments and our team.
The Philanthropic Ventures Foundation’s grant went towards funding scholarships for students who requested financial aid to attend the World Championships. The Foundation allowed us to send five students on scholarship. These students were able to receive a transformative experience — working amongst the best robotics team from around the world, attending lectures from cutting-edge industry experts, discussing future career options with employers, and spending invaluable time with our BHS Robotics community. We cannot thank you enough for the impact you’ve had on our students.”
The TED Program is open to teachers serving low-income students in TK-12th grade in Alameda and San Mateo County public schools.
