When PVF had an opportunity to address poverty through innovation in the Bay Area, we jumped at the chance. We have teamed up with Code for America and the County of San Mateo’s Human Services Agency to address the low food stamp enrollment rates in San Mateo County. The goal of this partnership is to determine ways in which eligible individuals have better access to the services offered by California’s food stamp system, known as CalFresh.

The three Code for America Fellows at the heart of this project are seeking new solutions to raise enrollment rates with the support of technology and design. To read about their innovative and fresh work, check out their newsletter, Bytes to Bites.
