Grants available for 501(c)(3) non-profits serving Belle Haven and East Palo Alto

What: $3,000-$5,000 grants are available for non-profit programs serving Belle Haven and East Palo Alto.
Who:
- 501(c)(3) non-profits with a history of proven success in providing
-
services to the Belle Haven community.

501(c)(3) non-profits in East Palo Alto that are programs providing
youth access, training in computer technology and social media;
programs that offer weekend activities to youth ages 13-18 for new
life experiences to ignite an interest in learning; and programs that
provide support to college bound high school seniors. -
All organizations that meet these criteria are welcome to apply in 2013, regardless of past funding through the Facebook Local Community Fund.
Note: An organization may apply for one grant each cycle. For example, please do not apply for a grant in Belle Haven and another one in East Palo Alto.
How: Application should contain the following and not exceed three pages in length:

Notation on top that the request is for the Facebook Local
Community Fund - 501(c)(3) Tax ID Number
- Community Served (East Palo Alto, Belle Haven or both)
- Program description
- Goals and proposed outcomes for the grant
- Organization budget
- If the Facebook Local Community Fund has funded your organization in the past, you must also provide an overview of the results of the grant in less than 500 words.
Deadline: Submit your application by May 1, 2013 via email to Philanthropic Ventures Foundation at info@venturesfoundation.org. Applications will be reviewed by the Facebook Local Community Fund Board of Directors. Grantees will be notified by June 1, 2013. Grants will be distributed annually.
*Please note public agencies and schools are not eligible to apply. Non-profit organizations providing services on a school campus are eligible.*
Applications are reviewed by the community fund's board of directors, including: Susan Gonzales, Head of Community Engagement at Facebook; Sara Sperling, Manager of Diversity and Inclusion at Facebook; Annette Reavis, Human Resources Business Partner at Facebook; Kirsten Keith, Mayor of Menlo Park; and Laura Martinez, Mayor of East Palo Alto.
